Georgian Mahogany Bachelors Chest of Drawers
A good example of a small Georgian mahogany bachelor's chest of drawers dating from the late 18th / early 19th century. It has an attractive bow front and there are three long drawers, each with brass plate handles below a gentleman's brushing slide. It stands on sweeping bracket feet.
The chest is in good original condition and is a sturdy piece that has been well made and well looked after. The oak lined drawers are generally clean and tidy and open smoothly. The timber has a good colour and the whole piece has developed a lovely patina. It is not without a few small surface marks and knocks and signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use
