Georgian Mahogany Apothecary Box
A good example of an early 19th Century mahogany apothecary case with brass strapping, brass corner pieces and inset military style brass handles.
The top of the box lifts to reveal a selection of various glass medicine bottles, some with original paper labels and some with cork stoppers. Below this is a drawer which can be opened when a steel rod is lifted up. This drawer contains a couple of glass measuring beakers and some other accessories and bottles.
The mahogany box is in excellent condition and is strong and sturdy with a beautiful patina.There are some small knocks and marks but no major damages and the inside is generally clean and tidy. It also comes with it original working key.
There are no major damages to any of the glass bottles. There are some nibbles and small chips around the tops of some of them but nothing serious and the contents of the drawer are also in excellent condition.
