George III Fruitwood Dresser Base
A superb example of a fruitwood dresser base dating from the late 18th Century. It stands on turned front legs with pad feet and has 3 drawers, each with brass swan neck handles. It is a lovely piece of country furniture with a particularly good colour and patination.
It is in good condition throughout and displays beautifully. It is not without some signs of age and use and minor stains and marks on the top but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. The drawers are generally clean and tidy inside and open smoothly. There are some signs of historic worm in places which has all been treated as a precaution. There have been some old repairs over the years but nothing untoward and it is strong and sturdy. It has been given a clean and polish and is ready for the home.
