A good quality oval bijouterie table dating from the early 20th Century. The table is veneered in satinwood with hand-painted classical decoration, including floral garlands and swags to the sides and legs. The glazed top opens to reveal a blue velvet lined interior and the table stands on elegant square tapering legs joined by a lower shelf with further floral painted decoration.
It is a very pretty and delicate piece with a lovely rich patina and colour. It is in good condition for its age and the interior is generally clean and tidy. There are of course signs of age and use, some light surface marks and knocks, some slight lifting to some veneer around the inside edge and a couple of old repairs to the lower shelf but nothing detrimental and it is strong and sturdy. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
