Product Details

A beautiful oak stationery cabinet dating from the early 20th Century. It has a lovely warm patina with ornate brass corner pieces and a brass shield shaped escutcheon. The front is connected to the top so when the front opens downwards the top also opens at the same time.

The front reveals a series of racks for holding papers and letters and the top has a pen tray, a glass ink pot, stamp slope and a couple of other sections. The front edge is stamped with a patent number "Rd.186068".

It is in good condition for its age. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside, general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. There is a small piece of brass missing from one corner and it would have originally had carrying handles on the side but the box still displays well. We do not have a key. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
