A good quality oak coal scuttle dating from the early 20th Century. It has ornate art nouveau style brass hinges and decorative pierced brass corner pieces. It has a brass carrying handle and a small shovel mounted in a brass holder on the back. The hinged lid opens to reveal its original liner.
It is in good condition for its age and the oak has a nice rich colour. There are some signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks but nothing untoward or detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
