Product Details

A good quality country house armchair dating from the early 20th Century. It has a generous deep seat with rounded arms and a gently sloping back, similar to the style made popular by Howard & Sons. It stands on turned front legs with small brass and ceramic castors below. The legs have been reduced in height at some point in their lives making the chair quite low to he ground.

The chair is well made and, despite being quite low to the ground, very comfortable to sit in. It has been recently recovered in a good quality blue fabric with a skirt that compliments the style of the chair.

The chair is in very good condition and is strong and sturdy. There are a few general marks and small knocks around the legs but nothing detrimental. The upholstery is not new but in very good condition with one small mark on the rear of the skirt and some very minor signs of wear on the arms but nothing untoward.

The chair stands approximately 30" (76cm) high, 28" (71cm) wide and 37" (94cm) deep. The seat is approximately 13" (33cm) high.
