Product Details
Lovely example of a Clarice Cliff pottery clog. It is of typical form and is decorated in the striking Autumn pattern in a blue colourway showing trees with large balloon shaped tops among bushes and a small cottage roof. This pattern was designed in 1930.
The clog is stamped on the underneath with the full Bizarre stamp and reads "Fantasque. Hand Painted. Bizarre by Clarice Cliff. Newport Pottery England".
Approximate Measurements:
Length : 5 1/2" (14cm)
Width : 2 3/4" (7cm)
Height : 2 3/4" (7cm)
The clog is in very good condition for its age. There are no cracks or chips and the colours are bright and vibrant with minimal paint loss (see photos for best idea of condition report).
However you will notice there is a small chip on the inner rim which has been repaired (see photo). It has not damaged the outer of the clog and as you can see from the many pictures it does not detract from what is a fine and rare piece of Clarice Cliff. The price of course reflects this restoration though.
