A good example of a brass coal scuttle dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is a traditional helmet shape with a swing handle and round foot. It is good quality with a rolled rim and Art Nouveau style heart shaped brackets fixing the handle in place.
It is excellent quality and beautifully decorated with stylised leaves and flowers.
It is in good original condition and displays well. There are no damages, splits or holes. There are some minor dinks and dents, particularly around the foot, and some light surface marks and general signs of age and use but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
