A good example of an original Art Deco standard lamp dating from the 1930s. It is a simple geometric design, typical of the Art Deco period, with a square base beautifully veneered in burr walnut and a chrome stepped collar. The upright has a Birds Eye maple section at the base and the main body is veneered in a good quality wood, possibly walnut or mahogany.
It has been PAT Tested and rewired to modern standards with a chromed bulb holder and it takes a standard bayonet bulb.
The lamp is in good original condition and the wood has been polished to show off the beautiful grain. There are some small marks and knocks around the base, some minor chips and some light pitting and tarnishing to the chrome but nothing detrimental. The base is weighted and the lamp is strong and sturdy and displays well.
