A very decorative antique pestle and mortar dating from the late 19th Century. The large dug out bowl stands on a round foot and it comes with a turned wooden pestle.
It has developed a beautiful worn patina over years of use and there are layers of original paint showing through in places.
It is in good solid order with no major damages. There are of course signs of age and use and there is a shrinkage split in the end of the pestle but it isn't detrimental and certainly doesn't detract from what is a beautiful item. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
