A lovely antique toleware oil lamp, believed to be from a Railway Station Waiting Room. It is painted black with gilt lining and has a screw in brass burner complete with glass chimney. It has a mirrored reflector behind and an upright back with a hole in the back for hanging. The base acts as the oil reservoir and there is a small brass filler cap.
It has been well used and has developed the most beautiful aged patina. The paint has rubbed and worn in places and there are a few small dents and dinks on the base but no major damages. I have not tested the oil burner but I see no reason why it shouldn't work as intended and the wick turners moves well.
