Antique Teak Ship’s Key Cabinet
A lovely small teak cabinet dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It is good quality with a wonderful rich colour and grain and has a recessed brass carrying handle, typical of naval pieces. The doors open to reveal 9 small brass key hooks - whether this was always its original purpose it's hard to say but it certainly lends itself to a key cabinet given its narrow size. The interior of the doors have interesting nautical stream line charts set in behind glass.
It is in good condition for its age and comes with a working key. It is strong and sturdy and generally clean and tidy inside. There are signs of age and use, some general knocks and marks but nothing detrimental. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
