A large English sycamore dairy bowl dating from the early to mid 19th century. It has been turned from a single piece of wood and decorated with double incised lines.
It has a rich natural colour and has developed a beautiful patina through many years of use. It has a naturally imperfect shape with a slightly uneven rim which adds to its character. There is an old shrinkage split in the side which has been stapled at some point in its life to hold it in place. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
