A nice example of a novelty silver pin cushion in the form of a shoe. It is good quality and a particularly large size with a red covered pin cushion and an oak base.
It is hallmarked for Chester and the maker Stokes & Ireland Ltd. The date year mark is rubbed but the shape and maker narrow down the age to between 1896-1924. It also has the registration mark "548913".
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are some small dinks and minor dents and faint surface marks around the body of the shoe but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and displays very well.
