A nice example of a novelty silver pin cushion in the form of a shoe. It is good quality and a particularly large size with a blue covered pin cushion and an oak base.
It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1909 and the maker S.Blankensee & Son. It also has the registration mark "548913".
It is in good condition for its age although the top of the pin cushion is worn and there are some small holes. There are some small dinks and minor dents and faint surface marks around the body of the shoe but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and displays very well.
