Antique Rosewood Collector's Box
A good example of a beautiful Rosewood box dating from the late 19th Century. It has a pretty inlaid mother of pearl cartouche in a diamond pattern and a matching escutcheon. It was most likely once a sewing or vanity box but has now been refitted with a sectioned tray lined in green baize with matching green silk in the lid. The tray lifts out to reveal an additional lined and sectioned storage area below. Perfect for a collector's box and it comes with a working key.
It is in good condition for its age and has been very well made and well looked after. There are some minor signs of age and use but nothing detrimental and overall the piece displays beautifully. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
