A large pine dresser base dating from the late 19th Century. It has 9 graduated drawers with turned wooden knobs arranged around a central shelved cupboard. It is a well made piece with a planked top and it stands on a plinth base.
It is in good condition for its age and is a nice country piece. There are signs of age and use, various marks and knocks on the top surface but it has a lovely patina. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and all open smoothly. There have been various old repairs over its lifetime but it is strong and sturdy. There are some old signs of worm, particularly in the back boards, which has all been treated as a precaution and has not affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. It has been cleaned and given a gentle wax polish and is ready for use.
