A good quality set of shelves dating from the late 19th century. They are made from oak and have shaped sides with pretty fretwork cut decoration. There are two brackets to hang them on the wall but the shelves do stand freely so could also sit on the floor or on top of another piece of furniture.
They are a good quality piece and have been well made. They have a nice patina and the oak has mellowed to a lovely warm colour
They are in very good condition for their age and are strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some minor marks and knocks and an old repaired split on the reverse but no major damages or anything detrimental. They have been cleaned and gently polished and are ready for use.
