A good quality oak box settle dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It is a lovely country piece and a nice small size. It has traditional wing shaped sides and arms and a useful lift up seat with storage below.
It is in good condition for its age and the oak has developed a wonderful patina. There are signs of age and use, some minor old marks and knocks and a couple of small chips and shrinkage splits but nothing untoward or detrimental. There are some signs of old worm in places which has all been treated as a precaution. The whole piece has been cleaned and given a gentle wax polish and is ready for use.
