A lovely needlework sampler, sewn by Mary Ann Poey in 1846 when she was 12 years old. It is an interesting sampler with a floral border and various pictorial motifs depicting Adam and Eve in the garden of eden around a stitched bible verse. It is framed in a good quality rosewood frame with a gilt slip.
It is in good condition for its age and is very decorative. The colours have faded slightly over time and there are a couple of small areas of wear but no major damages and it displays well. There are a couple of small knocks around the frame but nothing detrimental. It has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
