A good example of an antique travelling sewing / manicure set dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has various different steel tools, each with beautifully carved mother of pearl handles. It also contains a pair of scissors, a thread winder and a sterling silver thimble.
It comes in its original red leather case with gilt lining and a brass latch. The interior is beautifully lined in blue silk and velvet.
It is in good condition for its age and has clearly been well looked after. There are some signs of age and use, some light surface marks and some minor corrosion on the steel tools but nothing detrimental or untoward. The case is in good order and the whole set displays beautifully.
