Product Details

A good example of a Windsor chair dating from the mid 19th century. It has a low hooped back enclosing tapering spindles and a pierced back splat. It stands on turned legs joined by a H-stretcher. It has a superb shaped elm seat with a wonderful grain.

It is in good original condition with a lovely patina. There are some signs of age and use, some light marks on the seat and around the legs but nothing detrimental. The turnings on one rear leg are different to the rest so it has likely been replaced at some point but it doesn't stand out and the chair is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

The chair stands approximately 35 1/2" (90cm) high, the seat is 15" (38cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high and arm to arm the chair is 22 1/2" (57cm) wide.
