Product Details
A good example of a Windsor chair dating from the mid 19th century. It has a low hooped back enclosing tapering spindles and a pierced back splat. It stands on turned legs joined by a H-stretcher. It has a superb shaped elm seat with a wonderful grain.
It is in good original condition with a lovely patina. There are some signs of age and use, some light marks on the seat and around the legs but nothing detrimental. There has been an old repair to one arm (see photo) but nothing untoward and it is strong and sturdy. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
The chair stands approximately 37" (94cm) high, the seat is 14 1/2" (37cm) deep and 17" (43cm) high and arm to arm the chair is 23 1/2" (60cm) wide.
