A lovely antique elm stool, possibly a milking stool, dating from the early to mid 19th Century. It has a thick top made from one solid piece of elm and it stands on four legs. A useful size for a small bedside or sofa table.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. It has a wonderful patina with signs of wear and use but no major damages and it is strong and sturdy. There are some signs of historic worm in places which has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the stool structurally or aesthetically. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
