Product Details
An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat, beautifully shaped with a wonderful grain. It has broad arms, turned spindles and stands on turned legs joined by a stretcher.
It is approximately 30" (76cm) high and it is 25 1/2” (65cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 18" (46cm) deep and 17” (43cm) high.
It is in good condition for its age and has developed a lovely patina. The chair is not without a few small marks and signs of age and use but no major damages or anything detrimental. There has been an old repair to the top of one front leg but it isn't detrimental and the chair is strong and sturdy.
