An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher.
It is approximately 31" (79cm) high and it is 21 1/2" (55cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 19" (48cm) deep and 18" (46cm) high.
It is in good condition for its age and has developed a lovely patina. The chair is not without a few minor marks and signs of age and use but no major damages and it is strong and sturdy. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
