An attractive and good quality 'Smoker's Bow' or 'Captain's' armchair dating from the late 19th century. It has a comfortable wide and deep elm seat with broad arms, turned spindles and turned legs joined by a double stretcher. The rear of the seat is stamped with the maker's initials 'JK'.

It is approximately 31 1/2" (80cm) high and it is 27” (68cm) wide across the arms. The seat is approximately 18" (46cm) deep and 18 1/2” (47cm) high.

It is in good condition for its age and displays well. It has developed a lovely aged patina and is a strong and sturdy chair. The chair is not without a few small marks and signs of age and a few old repairs but no major damages or anything detrimental. It has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
