A good example of a traditional Chinese wedding basket dating from the mid 20th Century. It has two tiers and is made from hand woven bamboo and rattan with a carved handle. These baskets were originally used for delivering gifts to newlyweds and it has developed a lovely patina.
It comes with its original "Invoice of Cultural Relics and Antiques" issued by a Shanghai antiques store in 1996.
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are some signs of age and use, minor surface marks and light wear but no major damages and it is strong and sturdy.
