A good example of a black lacquer Chinese box dating from the early 20th century. It is beautifully inlaid with mother of pearl decoration in traditional Chinese designs. It has a separate lid which lifts off and the interior is plain.
It is in good condition for its age and the interior is clean and tidy. There are a few small knocks and marks around the outside of the box, some minor chips and some small losses to the inlay but overall it displays well. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
