Product Details
An original travelling inkwell dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. The metal inkwell sits flat within a wooden frame and it is stamped "Ransome's Patent" above the maker's name "De La Rue". It is also stamped 'PUSH' on one side which helps to open the inkwell and stand it up within its frame. The lid hinges to reveal the original glass ink bottle within.
A clever piece of design retailed by the Army & Navy Stores to military officers to take with them on campaign.
It is in good condition for its age and the glass inkwell is undamaged. There are some marks and surface scratches around the metal casing and general signs of age and use but overall it displays well.
