Product Details

A good example of a Broad Arm Windsor chair dating from the late 19th / early 20th century. It has a generous shaped elm seat standing on turned legs joined by a double stretcher. The hooped back has turned spindles around a central pierced splat on broad sweeping arms.

The chair stands approximately 44" (112cm) high, the seat is 18" (46cm) deep and arm to arm the chair is 26" (66cm)wide.

It is in good condition and is strong and sturdy with no major damages. There are signs of age and use and some marks and light knocks on the seat and around the legs but nothing detrimental. There are some minor signs of old worm in one stretcher which has been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the chair structurally or aesthetically. It has developed a lovely rich colour and patina and has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
