An original Union No.1818 'Spend a Penny' toilet door lock dating from 1939. It is a complete set including the door knob, locking bolt, latch plate and the original signs! It doesn't look as though it has ever been used or fitted and it comes with its original instructions with fitting templates and the original screws. Given it was made in 1939, perhaps the outbreak of World War II meant that it was never used.
It is in full working order and comes with a key to the lock and a key to open the coin reservoir below. A rare survivor and a really quirky item!
It is in excellent condition. Some tarnishing on the brass and light surface marks but no major damages.
