A good example of an original antique brass lantern dating from the early 20th Century, most likely used on board a ship. It has 6 panels of glass protected by a brass cage with a chain for hanging. It would have once had an oil burner fitted but has since been converted to electric. It has been rewired with a standard bayonet bulb and braided flex.
It is in good original condition with a lovely patina. It is not without some knocks and marks and the brass has tarnished over time but it displays well and the glass has no major damages. The lamp has been lightly cleaned is ready for use.
