Product Details

A superb antique telescope by Broadhurst Clarkson & Co dating to the late 1800s. The telescope is made of brass and has a single large tube with an extendable eyepiece which focuses the telescope using the rack and pinion knob on the side.

The telescope comes with an adjustable wooden tripod which likely dates slightly later than the telescope itself, circa 1920-1940 and has a military crows foot on it. The height of the legs of the telescope is adjustable.

Both the telescope and tripod are in good original condition. The telescope has clearly been well looked after and the lenses are undamaged and produce a clear and crisp image with a very good range. It has suffered some minor dinks and dents to the tube but nothing untoward and it displays beautifully - a real statement piece.

Please bear in mind the telescope is over 100 years old and the lenses will not be like new. There are some small specks of dirt on the lenses but it is perfectly useable.
