William IV Mahogany Glazed Bookcase
A large mahogany cabinet dating from the early 19th Century. The top section has two glazed doors opening to a shelved interior with three adjustable shelves. The bottom section has two panelled cupboard doors below a long drawer with turned knobs. The cupboard contains two pull out slides and the whole piece stands on turned feet. The top part of the dresser is slightly set back and the whole piece splits into two parts for transport.
It is a good quality piece made with beautifully figured timbers and both sets of doors come with working keys. It is a good large size and would lend itself to a bookcase or display cabinet with useful storage below.
It is in excellent original condition and is strong and sturdy. It is not without some signs of age and use, some small marks and minor knocks but no major damages. There have been a few minor repairs to the top of one door but nothing untoward or detrimental and it displays beautifully. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
