A superb Victorian walnut pier cabinet of small proportions, dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is excellent quality with pretty ormolu mounts and inlaid decoration. The glazed door opens to a shelved interior lined with the original green velvet and ormolu beading across the front of the shelf.
It is in very good condition and the walnut has developed a lovely patina. There are some signs of age and use, some small marks and knocks and minor old shrinkage splits but no major damages. There is some very slight lifting to a small area of veneer on the top surface but nothing untoward and it still displays beautifully. It has been thoroughly cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
