Victorian Brass Telescopic Oil Lamp Converted to Electric
A good example of a Victorian brass telescopic oil lamp which has been converted to an electric lamp. It has a heavy round base with Art Nouveau style feet and a central tubular upright supporting the brass oil font and burner. The top part is telescopic and can be adjusted in height using the screw on the side. It is a good quality piece and the lamp is stamped " Manufactured in Germany by the Veritas Lamp Works ".
The bulb holder sits atop the old burner. It has been PAT tested and rewired to modern standards to take a standard bayonet bulb.
It is in good original condition and is strong and sturdy. There are some signs of age and use, some minor marks and a few small dinks and dents around the font but no major damages. The brass has been lightly polished and it displays well.
