Product Details

A lovely small mahogany drop-flap table dating from the early 19th Century. The drop leaves are supported by small hinged wooden flaps and the table stands on ring turned legs with its original brass castors. There is a drawer on one side of the table and a matching dummy drawer on the opposite side, although one side has turned wooden knobs and the other has brass knobs.

It is a good quality piece and there is a small raised lip around the main surface of the table suggesting it could have perhaps been made as a silver table.

It is in good condition for its age and displays well with a nice rich colour. The leaves are easy to put up and the drawer opens smoothly. There are some signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and light knocks here and there but nothing untoward. There has been a repair to a break at the top of one back leg (see photo) but it is strong and sturdy and has not affected the table structurally or aesthetically. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
