A beautiful mahogany bow fronted chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. It is excellent quality and very well made with a lovely patina. The oak lined drawers have brass plate handles which, although aren't original, suit the piece well. There are decorative inlaid panels above the drawers and a pretty crossbanded border around the top edge.The chest stands on sweeping bracket feet.
It is in good condition for its age and it has a lovely colour and grain. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are of course some signs of wear and use, some minor marks and knocks, some minor chips to the cockbeading around the drawers and some old repairs but nothing detrimental or untoward and it is strong and sturdy. The chest has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
