Product Details

A good example of a small Georgian oak dresser dating from the early 19th century. It most likely originates from Wales and is excellent quality. The base contains three drawers above a central arched 'dog kennel' with two cupboard doors either side. Each drawer has brass ring pull handles and the cupboards have brass knobs and H-hinges.

The dresser has its original plate rack with moulded cornice, three graduated shelves and many of its original hooks. The rack has a fully planked back with wide original boards.

It is in very good condition throughout and displays beautifully. It is not without signs of age and use and there are some knocks and minor old stains and marks on the top surface but this has all helped to develop a beautiful rich patina over the years. The drawers open smoothly and the interior is generally clean and tidy. The handles are not original but suit the piece well and have been on there a good time. The dresser has suffered from woodworm at some point in its life and there are some old holes around the base but this has all been treated as a precaution and hasn't affected the piece structurally or aesthetically. The dresser has been given a thorough clean and gentle polish and is ready for use.
