A good oak chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. It has a nice arrangement of four long drawers with pierced brass plate handles. The handles are not original but have been on there some time and suit the piece well. It is a good quality piece made of solid oak with a lovely rich colour and it stands on bracket feet. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside.
It is in very good condition for its age and has developed a lovely patina. There are some signs of age and use and some small knocks and marks here and there but no major damages and it is strong and sturdy. There have been a couple of old repairs to the bottom apron but it still displays well. There are some signs of old woodworm in places but this has all been treated as a precaution. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
