Edwardian Mahogany Pedestal Desk
A lovely antique mahogany desk dating from the early 20th Century. It has an arrangement of 9 drawers around a central kneehole. Each drawer has its original art nouveau style brass handles and the pedestals have plinth bases with small castors below. The top of the desk has a beautiful inset green leather writing surface with a gilt tooled edge.
It is a good quality example and the desk is nicely finished on all sides so could suit being in the centre of a room as well as being against a wall.
The desk is in very good condition for its age and has been well looked after. The mahogany has a lovely warm colour and the drawers open smoothly. The inside of the drawers are generally clean and tidy with just some minor stains and marks. There are some normal signs of age and use, a few minor knocks, light surface marks and a couple of minor old shrinkage splits but nothing detrimental. The desk does not come with any keys. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
