Anglo-Indian Teak Merchant’s Chest
A lovely small Anglo-Indian trunk dating from the 19th Century. It is made of an exotic hardwood, most likely teak, and is well constructed with dovetail joints. It has its original blacksmith made handles and strapping and corner pieces. The lid opens to reveal a plain interior with a small candle box and the trunk stands on small bun feet.
It is in good condition for its age with a lovely patina. There are signs of age and use, some marks and knocks and a couple of old repairs but nothing detrimental. The feet are not original but it still displays well. The interior is clean and tidy. It has been cleaned and lightly polished and is ready for use.
