A good antique pine blanket box dating from the late 19th century. It is a particularly large size and very well made with dovetail joints and its original metal carrying handles. Inside it has its original hinges and a small candle box with hinged lid. The underneath of the lid is panelled. It has its original lock which is stamped VR for Queen Victoria and it comes with a working key.
A good size for a coffee table, end of the bed storage or toy trunk.
It is in good condition for its age and is strong and sturdy. There are signs of age and use, some light knocks and marks but nothing untoward and it is generally clean and tidy inside. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
